Getting a pathway into the ground means open trenching where it’s practical and directional boring where it isn’t — under roads, driveways, and obstacles that can’t be dug through. Conduit, Vaults, And Access Points

The pathway itself is built from conduit and duct, tied together by vaults, handholes, and pedestals that give crews access to pull and splice cable later. Placed correctly and to standard, this system carries not just today’s cable but whatever gets added to the route in the years after.

Cable Placement And Restoration

With the plant in place, cable is pulled or blown through the duct, and the surfaces disturbed during construction are restored. Clean restoration matters more than it seems — it’s the visible part of the job, and the part a property owner or jurisdiction judges the whole build by.

Right-of-Way, Permitting, And Utility Coordination

Right-of-way and permitting set the pace. Much of an OSP timeline is spent securing the right to build and clearing permits before any dirt moves. Handling this early, rather than discovering a gap mid-build, is what separates a project that flows from one that stalls waiting on approvals.

Existing utilities are the constant hazard. Every underground route runs the risk of conflicting with power, gas, water, or other buried lines. Locating and potholing existing utilities before excavation is what keeps a bore or trench from becoming a costly — or dangerous — surprise.
