Electrical Utility Upgrades & Civil Construction
Utility work moves at the pace of the utility — unless your contractor knows how to stay ahead of it. FTCI has built lasting relationships with electric utility companies across the country and we understand the individual standards, processes, and expectations of each provider we work with. That familiarity, combined with an on-hand inventory of metering equipment and switchgear that routinely faces long lead times, means we’re positioned to keep electrical upgrade projects moving when other contractors are still waiting on equipment or approvals.
Utility Coordination & Upgrades
Electrical utility upgrades require a contractor who can navigate the coordination process without losing weeks to back-and-forth with the utility. FTCI works directly with local utility providers across the country, managing the full process from initial application and inspection coordination through meter set and cutover to new service. We’ve built a reputation for seamless electrical cutovers — including moving all carriers to new meters — and we stock an extensive inventory of approved metering equipment and switchgear to eliminate the delays that typically stall these projects. When an upgrade is on the table, we’re ready to execute.
Civil / Underground
Underground construction is where project timelines are most vulnerable. Utility conflicts, permitting delays, unforeseen site conditions, and strict compliance requirements can compound quickly if the civil team isn’t prepared for them. FTCI’s civil crews have the experience to take on complex underground builds without slowdowns, working in close coordination with utility and fiber providers to keep the project moving at every phase. We adhere strictly to General Order 128 rules for underground work and prioritize efficient package submissions to hit GT and room-ready dates as quickly as possible.
Right-of-Way Electrical
Right-of-way electrical work demands a different kind of coordination — one that involves municipalities, utilities, and in many cases active traffic management alongside the technical construction work itself. FTCI’s small cell and right-of-way teams are experienced in the permitting, compliance, and field execution that ROW projects require. Our teams operate under GO 95 rules for utility pole work and have the in-house expertise and traffic control materials to support these builds without relying on outside resources.
A Contractor Utilities Actually Want to Work With
FTCI’s relationships with utility providers across the country aren’t incidental — they’re a direct result of how we operate on every project. Clean work, proper documentation, and no surprises at inspection. If you have an electrical upgrade or civil build that needs a contractor who can move, let’s talk.
