Power Plant Installations
DC power plants are the heart of most telecom and critical facility backup power architectures. FTCI has completed power plant installations across a wide range of configurations and facility types, with the experience to manage the electrical, integration, and documentation requirements that come with them. We’ve also completed complex live power plant migrations — moving equipment from one plant to another without any loss of power to operating equipment — a level of work that demands both precision and a thorough understanding of what’s at risk.
DC Power Systems & UPS
DC power systems and uninterruptible power supplies serve different roles in a facility’s power architecture, but both require the same careful approach to installation and integration. Grounding Studies
A backup power system is only as reliable as the grounding infrastructure beneath it. Poor or non-compliant grounding doesn’t just create safety hazards — it introduces noise, degrades equipment performance, and can cause failures that are difficult to trace back to their source. FTCI conducts grounding studies on existing facilities and new installations alike, with working knowledge of the standards that govern central office and data center environments. We’ve identified grounding deficiencies in previous builds that owners didn’t know existed, and corrected them before they became costly problems.
Generator Installation
Generators provide the last line of defense when primary power fails and battery backup runs thin. FTCI installs temporary and permanent generators for telecom sites, commercial facilities, and critical infrastructure — handling the electrical connections, fuel system coordination, and commissioning work required to bring them online correctly. For clients who need ongoing coverage, we work closely with maintenance partners to provide long-term generator service programs.
Solar Backup Systems
Solar backup systems are an increasingly practical solution for telecom applications, particularly at sites where grid power is unreliable, expensive to connect, or not yet available. FTCI installs solar backup systems with the electrical and integration expertise to make them work reliably within a broader power architecture. We also build and stock solar carts specifically for telecom room-ready packages — a purpose-built solution for keeping sites on schedule before permanent power is in place.
