About Forged Technical Consulting

Forged Technical Consulting was established in 2019 to deliver something the telecom and electrical construction industry consistently falls short on: technical execution at the level the work actually demands.

Companies in this space regularly encounter challenges with the technical side of their builds. The standards are rigorous, the technology evolves quickly, and the contractors who can keep pace — who bring genuine depth, stay current on emerging specifications, and close out projects correctly — are hard to source. FTCI was founded specifically to be that contractor.

Sean Springfield saw that gap firsthand over nearly three decades in the industry. His career began in 1996 in Colorado, building telecommunications towers and cell sites and traveling across the country to construct networks for a wide range of clients. In 2001 he relocated to California, where he spent six years managing the construction of greenfield central offices and data centers. He then led a technology division for a major corporation for approximately fifteen years — overseeing the kind of complex, multi-disciplinary technical work that most contractors never encounter.

When that chapter ended, Sean didn’t step away from the industry. He and two longtime colleagues — Edgar Robles and Mike Robles, both of whom had been part of his team — identified the same market gap they’d been watching contractors struggle with for years. In 2019, they founded Forged Technical Consulting to fill it.

The Team

FTCI is built on the idea that the quality of technical construction is determined entirely by the people doing it. Sean, Edgar, and Mike each bring a different dimension to the company’s leadership, and together they provide the operational and technical foundation that the rest of the team is built on.

Edgar Robles, Director of Operations, has worked in the industry since 2011. His strength is in people — building cohesive crews, mentoring field teams, and creating the kind of collaborative environment where high-quality work is the expectation rather than the exception. His ability to lead teams through technically demanding builds while maintaining morale and momentum is a significant part of how FTCI delivers consistent results.

Mike Robles, Director of Technology, has also been in the industry since 2011. Where Edgar builds the team, Mike keeps it sharp. He specializes in technical problem-solving and staying ahead of emerging technology and specifications — and then translating that knowledge into practical training that brings the whole crew up to speed. In an industry where the technology and standards are constantly shifting, Mike’s role is what keeps FTCI’s work current and compliant.

How We Work

FTCI’s purpose is straightforward: build reliable, future-ready infrastructure that enables businesses and communities to thrive. Every project — regardless of scope or complexity — is approached with the same core commitments.

We listen before we design. Solutions are built around real project needs, not off-the-shelf approaches. Throughout every build, clients are kept informed at every stage with honest estimates, transparent communication, and proactive updates when conditions change.

Technical rigor is non-negotiable. We apply proven engineering standards and continuous quality checks from the first day on-site through final closeout submittal. Our goal on every project is 100% completion on the first try — zero go-backs — and we structure our work to make that outcome the norm rather than the exception.

Safety is built into how we operate, not added at the end. Every decision on every job prioritizes the health and safety of our crews, our clients, and the communities we work in. That standard holds from day one through the final submission.

And when problems come up — because in construction they always do — we take ownership and correct course. We don’t wait to be asked.

Built to Stay Current

The technical demands of telecom and electrical construction don’t stand still. New standards, new equipment, new carrier requirements, and new technology mean that a team that was current three years ago may not be current today. FTCI’s culture is built around continuous learning — our team members are expected to pursue ongoing knowledge of the latest technology, and that expectation is reinforced through the training and coaching that Mike and Edgar build into how the company operates.

It’s what allows us to take on complex builds with confidence, and what keeps our clients from having to find a different contractor every time the industry moves.
